Homework Assignments

Every week Students will be given a Reading Log.  They are expected to read at least 15-20 minutes a night.  This log needs to be filled out and signed every night.  This will be an on-going part of you child's Reading grade. 

Students will also be given regular book reports that will consist of several different projects.  Students will have the opportunity to check out books from the school library.  The book must be approved.

A portion of the Reading grade will be Vocabulary.  Students have 10 words with definitions to study.  They will also complete several workbook pages in class.  The vocabulary test will be on Friday of that week.  Students are expected to score a 70% or higher on the test.  Retakes will be offered during lunch on the following Monday with a parent signature.

Students will be given spelling lists most weeks.  they will have a homework packet that will need to be completed on a nightly basis.  This will consist of 3 times each(Monday), alphabetical order(Tuesday), sentences(Wednesday), and 5 definitions(Thursday).  In addition students will also complete spelling classwork.  Students will be tested over the spelling words on Fridays.  Students are expected to score a 70% or higher on the tests.  Retakes will be offered at lunch time on the following Monday with parent signature.
